Welcome to Kyoshin Shotokan Karate club. 

We are a family friendly traditional shotokan karate club based in Newport, South Wales. 

The club is affiliated to Shotokan Connect.

Kyoshin formed back in 1999 and has gone from strength to strength.  Our members comprise of all ages (from 5 to 60) and all grades.  We have many families training with us and offer attractive family discounts.  Those wishing to can compete regularly at club, regional and national levels.  The club has won many medals at all levels and produced Welsh champions in both kata and kumite.  Several of our members are currently or have been members of the National squad and we have had many selected to be part of the National team, representing Wales at European and World championships.

The heart of the club however, remains to be in the weekly training sessions.  This is where friendships are formed and improvements are seen all in the original aim for karate - The pursuit of excellence in character.
